Dear NJASA Member:
As you are aware, effective July 1, 2005 all chief school administrators are required to submit to NJASA a professional growth plan or PGP based on their personal assessment of their performance relative to the New Jersey Professional Standards for School Leaders and the peer review of at least three of their colleagues.
Over the past two years, NJASA, in cooperation with NJPSA and the DOE, has been conducting technical support training sessions around the state regarding the implementation of the new regulation.
In this section under "PGP Forms" you will find the recommended materials for using as is or for modifying to complete the submission requirement. Additional copies of these materials, along with other options, are available on the DOE’s website. Click here to be linked to the Department site.
You are being asked to complete your PGP and submit it to NJASA. You no longer need a purchase order for $60.00 to cover the cost of monitoring your plan. NJASA is providing this as a free member service.
Please review the attached fact sheet of frequently asked questions about the new professional development requirement and the related professional development services available from NJASA.
As always, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to call Jerry Woehr, Ed.D., NJASA Co-Director of Professional Development at (609) 599-2900 Ext. 123 or email gwoehr@njasa.net.
Sincerely,
Richard G. Bozza, Ed.D.
NJASA Executive Director
