• “Special Education: Issues, Actions and Promising Practices,” NJASA’s April 23rd One-Day Seminar

    New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) Director, Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) Dr. Peggy McDonald, provided an informative update that  covered  all aspects of the NJDOE Special  Education Initiatives- Achievement for All

    This interactive session was followed by a panel presentation of school districts reflecting best practices of the state initiatives. Special thanks to the following school districts and their chief education officers for their time and willingness to share their paths regarding the avoidance of common pitfalls: Atlantic City, Logan Twp., North Brunswick Twp., and Pemberton Twp.

    Also this seminar addressed the New Jersey Professional Standards for School Leaders:

    Standard Two:  School administrators shall be educational leaders who promote the success of all students by advocating, nurturing, and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.
